Job summary

Allison Transmission is seeking a first-level supervisor to lead a medium-to-large production team in Indianapolis. You will apply Lean and TPM techniques to improve metrics while ensuring safe, cost-effective operations.

You’ll train, coach, and manage payroll, performance, and scheduling in a union environment. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, daily handovers, and proactive problem-solving to maintain quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 0–2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing/logistics.
• 1+ years in manufacturing/logistics environment.
• 3+ years supervisory experience preferred (union environment).

Responsibilities

• Meet production cost, schedules, and quality requirements using established processes.
• Update daily/monthly metrics and shopfloor performance boards.
• Communicate with management about people, quality, cost, safety, and responsiveness.
• Conduct daily handovers between shifts for smooth transitions.
• Facilitate floor operations and remove barriers to meet objectives.
• Manage personnel, material, and equipment safely and effectively.
