Job summary

Allison Transmission seeks a first-level supervisor to lead a medium to large production team. You will apply Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance to continually improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance.

You’ll train, coach, and manage payroll and performance for employees in the assigned area, ensure daily metrics are updated, and collaborate with management to meet production objectives across shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree and/or equivalent experience required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 0-2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing/logistics.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing/logistics environment; union experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Meets production cost, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Updates daily/monthly metrics and shopfloor performance boards.
• Communicates updates to management and peers regarding people, quality, cost, safety.
• Conducts daily handover with peer supervisor to ensure smooth shift transitions.
• Facilitates floor operations and removes barriers to meet objectives.
• Manages personnel, material, and equipment safely.
• Responsible for training, performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, timekeeping/payroll, resource management, and overtime management.
• Implements and maintains Operational Excellence initiatives and adheres to labor agreement.
• Willing to work any shift assigned.
