Job summary

Lifeway Foods, Inc. is seeking a Plant Supervisor to oversee Intake Operations, Packaging, Blowmold, Production, Sanitation, and Warehouse activities. You will coach staff, resolve quality issues, and enforce safety and environmental guidelines while optimizing resources and production workflows.

The role requires lifting, standing for long periods, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred along with related experience or training in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; or one to two years related training/experience; or equivalent.
• Demonstrate intellectual and interpersonal skills through leadership, organization, and self-efficacy.
• Ability to read, write, present, and effectively communicate in a business setting.
• Advanced proficiency in calculations and applying mathematical concepts.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Software, Inventory Software, and Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; on-your-feet standing for 8 hours; climb ladders and maneuver through equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate activities within Intake Operations, the Packaging Department, the Blowmold Department, Production, Sanitation, and the Warehouse
• Provide coaching and training to enhance skills and knowledge of workforce
• Identify and resolve quality issues promptly to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction
• Prioritize safety within plant, enforcing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety awareness among all employees; Ensure adherence to EH&S guidelines
• Optimize allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
• Continuously assess production processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity
• Regularly report to Plant Manager; Maintain open lines of communication between various departments to facilitate collaboration and problem-solving
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment and machinery are properly maintained and operational
• Interview and train employees; Plan and assign work; Appraise performance; Address and resolve problems
• Conduct employee performance reviews annually for designated department
• Report to work station on time; Wear proper work attire; Assist in setting up work area
• Perform duties as per SOP and SSOP meeting HACCP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, USDA, WDA and customer requirements
• Conduct behavior in compliance with Lifeway Employee Policy
• Perform additional duties as assigned
