Job summary

Lifeway Foods, Inc. is a Chicago-based beverage manufacturer and leading Kefir producer seeking a Bottling Line Operator to ensure efficient production flow and quality control. You will unload bottle deliveries, load bottles, operate line equipment, and perform quality inspections to uphold high standards.

This role requires adherence to GMP/SQF guidelines, basic troubleshooting, and teamwork to support other operators and maintain a safe, clean production area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; or 3–6 months related experience; or equivalent.
• Demonstrate leadership, organization, and self-efficacy.
• Ability to read and interpret business materials and regulations.
• Ability to write reports and present to managers and customers.
• Basic math skills including algebra and geometry.
• Physical requirements: able to lift up to 100 lbs intermittently and work in a loud environment.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Software, Inventory Software, and Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Unload bottle deliveries and load bottles into the machine to maintain steady production flow.
• Operate bagging and de-scrambler machines; keep fixtures and areas clean.
• Inspect bottle quality to prevent defective bottles from being produced.
• Communicate machine status and quality issues to supervisor.
• Report daily shift performance data, such as quality, tickets, pallet counts, and scrap.
• Relieve other operators when needed while maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Follow GMPs, SQF, HACCP and applicable FDA/OSHA/USDA guidelines.
