Job summary

Atkore in Pendleton, OR is seeking a Plant Manager to lead safety, production scheduling, manufacturing, maintenance, and quality. You will coordinate the plant leadership team to meet cost and schedule objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in plant management, along with budgeting, Lean manufacturing, and PVC production experience. You will mentor staff and drive continuous improvement while managing multiple shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of plant/general management experience.
• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
• Experience with PVC pipe production preferred.
• Ability to implement Lean Manufacturing and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor/developmental manager for employees.
• Willing to occasionally work off shift to provide training and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in a matrixed, mid-to-large organization.

Responsibilities

• Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
• Manage capital asset maintenance and oversee P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met.
• Develop programs for equipment utilization, maintenance, and labor/material costs.
• Establish and monitor plant performance for production and quality standards.
• Control overtime, freight, and repair expenses.
• Maintain facilities and equipment; upgrade as needed.
• Provide leadership and training to plant teams.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and safety directions.
• Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.
• Promote shop floor organization and plant cleanliness.
• Guide production supervisors with development and leadership.
• Demonstrate Atkore values in actions and decisions.
• Maintain KPI visual reporting and Lean Daily Management activities.
• Create and modify standardized work and ensure consistent application.
• Oversee hiring, performance management, and compensation.
