Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Eugene, Oregon seeks an Operations Manager to lead the production department, ensuring safe, cost-effective operations while complying with company policies and regulations.

You will plan and direct manufacturing activities, coach supervisors, manage budgets, drive continuous improvement, and deliver cost savings. Strong leadership, Excel proficiency, and Lean/Six Sigma experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with chemical industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, with 2-3 years of direct leadership/management of plant personnel.
• Strong understanding of KPI’s and delivering results.
• Experience in developing and planning forecasts and executing operating budgets.
• Results-driven leader with strategic thinking and ability to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct the Manufacturing department.
• Plan, direct production activities & establish production priorities.
• Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly activities with Production Supervisors.
• Develop and implement plans to use materials, labor and equipment efficiently to meet targets.
• Organize shutdowns/startups for maintenance and ensure safety practices are followed.
• Achieve departmental objectives within time, cost and quality parameters.
• Lead safety initiatives with the Safety Rep and Corporate Safety Director.
