Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a senior operations leader responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining profitable, efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant construction materials operations. You will plan and supervise plant staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with departments to meet project timelines.

The role requires 10+ years in construction materials and 5+ years of management, with a strong background in aggregates and hot mix asphalt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 10+ years work experience in a construction materials environment.
• 5+ management experience required.
• Experience with hot mix asphalt and aggregate plants is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise plant workers in mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and distribution of aggregates, HMA, or related materials; ensure profitability.
• Estimate material costs and read plan specs for accurate quotes.
• Determine manpower, inventory, equipment, and schedules for optimal plant operation.
• Develop and manage material operation P&L budgets to meet corporate goals.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Analyze production and cost reports to meet production and financial targets.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment following corporate standards.
• Evaluate costs and choose best value options for equipment repair or replacement.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, unions, and local representatives.
