Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Plant Model Engineer to develop, validate, and maintain high-quality 0D/1D plant models for virtual development and validation. The role requires 3+ years in plant modeling or V&V and a strong MBD background.

You will work with MATLAB/Simulink and other tools to ensure model fidelity, support optimization, and integrate models into XIL workflows for thorough system verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of plant modeling, simulation or V&V experience.
• Strong understanding of Model-Based Development and virtual testing methods.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools including 0D/1D modeling.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and problem-solving/analytic skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain 0D/1D plant models for virtual development and validation.
• Ensure model fidelity across concept, design, integration, and validation phases.

Job Title:Plant Model Engineer

Location:Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)

Duration: Possible 3 Month CTH

Pay: $22-$25/hr on W2

What's the Job?

• Develop, validate, and maintain high-quality 0D/1D plant models that represent physical systems (e.g., propulsion, chassis, ADAS, infotainment) for virtual development and validation.
• Ensure model fidelity matches the development phase (concept, design, integration, validation) and perform model validation and correlation against requirements and test data.
• Support model reduction and optimization to improve simulation efficiency while maintaining accuracy for verification workflows.
• Integrate plant models into XIL workflows and environments to enable virtual testing, requirement validation, and system verification.
• Collaborate with system design, architecture, controls, and testing teams to align plant models with system-level requirements and verification processes, including contributions to CI/CD pipelines for model development and validation.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in plant modeling, simulation, or V&V environments.
• Strong understanding of Model-Based Development (MBD) and virtual testing methods.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools, including physical system modeling knowledge (0D/1D).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and methods, plus strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
