Job summary

ManpowerGroup, the parent of Experis, seeks a Plant Model Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI, onsite. You will develop, validate, and maintain high-quality 0D/1D plant models for virtual development and verification, aligning with project requirements and system-level goals.

Collaborate with design, controls, testing, and CI/CD teams to ensure model fidelity, support model reduction, and enable efficient simulation workflows across vehicle domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in plant modeling, simulation, or V&V environments.
• Strong understanding of Model-Based Development (MBD) and virtual testing methods.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools, including 0D/1D modeling knowledge.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and methods, plus strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Our client, automotive engineering and simulation organization is seeking a Plant Model Engineer to join their team. As a Plant Model Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering & Verification organization supporting Model-Based Development and Virtual Validation activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive for technical excellence, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to model quality and governance which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay: $22-$25/hr on W2

What's the Job?

• Develop, validate, and maintain high-quality 0D/1D plant models that represent physical systems (e.g., propulsion, chassis, ADAS, infotainment) for virtual development and validation.
• Ensure model fidelity matches the development phase (concept, design, integration, validation) and perform model validation and correlation against requirements and test data.
• Support model reduction and optimization to improve simulation efficiency while maintaining accuracy for verification workflows.
• Integrate plant models into XIL workflows and environments to enable virtual testing, requirement validation, and system verification.
• Collaborate with system design, architecture, controls, and testing teams to align plant models with system-level requirements and verification processes, including contributions to CI/CD pipelines for model development and validation.
