Job summary

JBS Foods is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure timely and effective performance of maintenance procedures across production equipment. You will run tests, perform routine servicing, and document all activities with accuracy.

The role requires knowledge of basic mechanics, machine testing procedures, and equipment maintenance requirements, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills to coordinate with production staff.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High school degree or equivalent; training in maintenance and repair operations and safety certification may be required.
• Required knowledge: Knowledge of basic mechanics; Knowledge of machine testing procedures; Understanding of equipment maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Runs tests to ensure that equipment is operating properly.
• Schedules, cleans, oils, fills tanks, and adjusts equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Completes basic repairs on equipment and refers more difficult repairs to the Manager and recommends outside service providers.
• Identifies operational inefficiencies and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Conducts regular visual inspections of production equipment.
• Completes maintenance records and updates maintenance log books.
• Maintains files of operation guides and invoices.
• Maintains effective communication with area personnel.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and problems.
• Keeps work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
• Stays informed of maintenance requirements.
• Completes special projects.
