Position Summary

Pregis LLC, a leading global provider of innovative packaging solutions, is seeking a Plant Manager based at its Anderson, SC manufacturing facility, operating on a 24/7 schedule with 120 to 150 employees and 5 to 8 direct reports.

Pregis Performance Flexibles specializes in developing high-quality, converter-grade sealant films and other flexible packaging solutions. Our resources, talent, and innovative products are engineered to meet the critical needs of our customers and the complex end markets we serve.

The Plant Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant, from production and manufacturing to policy adherence. The role involves developing processes to maximize safety, quality, customer service, productivity, maintenance, and continuous improvement, while embodying Pregis's culture and values.

Job Functions

• Lead manufacturing activities by engaging with operational employees and team members, and make recommendations to improve culture, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Plan, organize, direct, and lead daily operations to exceed customer expectations.
• Increase production capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
• Implement world-class operating and materials management practices, promoting Lean and continuous improvement to enhance operational capability and cost efficiency.
• Ensure production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
• Align strategies with business initiatives, providing clear direction for the plant.
• Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Build trusting relationships with team members, recruiting, managing, and developing plant staff.
• Analyze data to identify waste or overtime issues and drive improvements in quality and process efficiency.
• Enhance plant safety programs.
• Provide effective training and coaching for plant personnel.
• Maintain high standards of plant housekeeping.
• Foster continuous improvement and embed vision and values into daily activities.
• Manage core functions to meet customer commitments and performance metrics.
• Ensure procurement, production schedules, and customer service relationships are effectively managed.
• Create a positive cross-functional work environment.
• Collaborate with R&D on new product trials, production optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education / Experience:

• 8+ years of plant management experience in manufacturing, overseeing multiple sites and product categories.
• Proven leadership in manufacturing environments.
• Bachelor's degree required.

• Experience managing direct reports is essential.
• Blown film experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills & Training:

• Strong knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, HR).
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for plant operations.
• Ability to foster accountability and lead by example.
• Excellent team building, decision-making, and management skills.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement principles.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Willingness to travel less than 15%.
• Experience managing cost savings initiatives and interpreting P&L statements.
• Experience with capital budgeting and implementation.
• Knowledge of ISO, SQF, BRC standards is preferred.
• Prior project management experience.
