Job Title: Batch Plant Manager
Location: Transient
Job Type: Salary
Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday depending on Schedule
Performance Evaluated by: Vice President of Equipment and Paving
Essential Job Duties
- Supervise the operation of the concrete plant and blending belt/pug mill to batch materials.
- Assist the Batch Plant Supervisor with daily plant activities such as scheduling truck drivers and ordering materials.
- Determine work procedures and assign duties related to batching, hauling, and maintenance.
- Ensure setup, disassembly, operation, maintenance, and record keeping of portable concrete batch plants meet standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
- Manage controls on control board to produce concrete conforming to project specifications.
- Forecast parts and materials weekly.
- Plan and schedule repairs weekly.
- Manage inventory control functions.
- Develop teamwork, uphold company policies, and maintain morale.
- Ensure environmental and safety policy compliance, including with outside contractors.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Adjust mix design as instructed to maintain quality.
- Conduct performance reviews of subordinates.
Education and Other Requirements
- At least 5 years' experience required.
- Current NRMCA Plant Manager certification required.
- Current ACI Concrete Field Technician - Grade I certification required.
- Thorough knowledge of concrete batching technology, equipment, methods, and safety.
- Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's License, preferably Class "A" or "B".
Additional Requirements
- Driving record must meet company standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain military base access.
- Reliable transportation to arrive and depart shifts on time.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods.
- Move in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
- Use hands and fingers to grasp objects and controls.
- Reach overhead and at shoulder height.
- Speak and hear in loud environments.
- Lift and transport up to 75 lbs.
- Visual abilities: close, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus.
- Climb up/down 20-foot ladder, balance.
- Work up to 12 hours in all weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Wear PPE as needed.
- Exposure to noise, dust, smells, moving parts, fumes, airborne particles.
- Exposure to weather extremes and handling chemicals.
- Exposure to vibrations, heights, confined spaces.
- Maintain a safe, clean work area.
