Job description

The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to partners at a Schreiber Foods plant. They focus on continuously improving cost, quality, and service of the products produced by developing teamwork at the plant level and utilizing cross-functional teams with suppliers, other Schreiber Foods groups, and customers. The role involves establishing and maintaining a plant culture conducive to teamwork and continuous improvement.

Additional compensation provided:

  • Relocation Benefits: Receive a $10,000 relocation bonus PLUS a generous relocation package if relocating more than 50 miles for the position.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure fair and equitable HR and personnel programs are developed and maintained in line with company direction.
  • Lead the plant’s activities in improving performance in cost, quality, and service.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment with the plant team.
  • Provide leadership in the production of finished products while improving fixed and variable costs.
  • Represent Schreiber Foods with regulatory agencies, local customers, and the community (including USDA, OSHA, EEOC, FDA, EPA, DNR, etc.).
  • Recommend and ensure prudent use of capital in equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Negotiate lease and supply agreements as applicable.
  • Utilize innovative compensation programs to motivate and recognize performance (skill-based pay, incentives, etc.).
  • Provide coaching and career development support to staff.
  • Stay informed about market conditions.
  • Create and support a culture of Process Excellence and team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, customer requirements, and establish and audit PCPs, CCPs, and SOPs to meet customer needs. Review incidents of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Dairy Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production/operations leadership within a mid to large-sized manufacturing facility.
  • Proven results in team development and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset.
  • Good strategic thinking abilities.

Additional requirements include a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, acceptable driving record, and a vehicle capable of meeting travel needs, with travel up to 15% expected.

Eligible partners will receive:
