LHH in Pico Rivera, CA seeks an experienced Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our facility. This role drives safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory control, costs, and employee development in a fast-paced production environment.

You will oversee Lean manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and visual management while building a high-performing leadership team, aligning cross-functional partners, and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading supervisors and hourly production teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing operations at our Pico Rivera, CA facility. This leadership role is responsible for plant performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory management, cost control, and employee development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team performance in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
  • Lead overall plant performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and Cost (SQDIP).
  • Ensure production schedules are developed, communicated, and executed effectively.
  • Drive on-time shipment performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Balance production capacity with customer demand through effective staffing and scheduling.
  • Monitor key operational metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong culture of workplace safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage operating expenses, labor costs, overtime, and controllable expenses.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
  • Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and resource efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and succession planning efforts.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Implement and sustain best practices including 5S, standard work, and visual management.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, customer complaints, and operational waste.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with planning, purchasing, customer service, and other departments to support customer demand.
  • Ensure materials, labor, equipment, and resources are available to meet production goals.
  • Identify operational risks and develop contingency plans when needed.
