Job summary

AmeriStaff Employment & Staffing Solutions in Martinsville, VA is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all day-to-day manufacturing operations at the Martinsville facility, drive production schedules, quality goals, and customer commitments.

Operational Leadership

• Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations within theMartinsvillefacility.
• Drive performance against production schedules, quality goals, and customer commitments.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvement strategies.
• Ensure resources, equipment, and staffing plans align with business objectives.

Team Development & Culture

• Build, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and respect.
• Mentor future leaders through training, development, and succession planning.
• Champion employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
• Use data and root-cause analysis to resolve operational challenges.
• Support automation and process improvement projects where appropriate.

Safety & Compliance

• Promote a safety-first culture across all operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
• Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and operational discipline.

Financial & Strategic Management

• Manage operational budgets, labor utilization, and productivity initiatives.
• Support long-range planning and growth objectives.
• Provide regular operational performance updates to senior leadership.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen our client's competitive position.

Required Qualifications

• Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience managing supervisors, technicians, and production teams.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and workplace safety.
• Proven ability to drive employee engagement and operational improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean Manufacturing Certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• Experience in advanced manufacturing,coatings, aerospace, metals, industrial, or specialty chemical environments.
• ERP or manufacturing systems experience.
