You will oversee Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen), manage resources and staffing, mentor leaders, and partner with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to meet customer commitments while advancing innovation and operational

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; operations management or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience managing supervisors, technicians, and production teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and workplace safety.
  • Proven ability to drive employee engagement and operational improvements.

Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000

Bonus: Performance-Based

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading daily plant operations while ensuring performance in safety, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and cost management. This position provides leadership to production, maintenance, and operational support teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support our client’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence.

What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
  • Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations within the Martinsville facility.
  • Drive performance against production schedules, quality goals, and customer commitments.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient operations.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvement strategies.
  • Ensure resources, equipment, and staffing plans align with business objectives.
Team Development & Culture
  • Build, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, engagement, and respect.
  • Mentor future leaders through training, development, and succession planning.
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
  • Use data and root-cause analysis to resolve operational challenges.
  • Support automation and process improvement projects where appropriate.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a safety-first culture across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and operational discipline.
Financial & Strategic Management
  • Manage operational budgets, labor utilization, and productivity initiatives.
  • Support long-range planning and growth objectives.
  • Provide regular operational performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen our client’s competitive position.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering,
  • Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience managing supervisors, technicians, and production teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and workplace safety.
  • Proven ability to drive employee engagement and operational improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing, coatings, aerospace, metals, industrial, or specialty chemical environments.
  • ERP or manufacturing systems experience.

Compensation

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually based on experience

Bonus Opportunity: Annual performance-based bonus tied to safety, quality, operational efficiency, and business results.
