AmeriStaff Employment & Staffing Solutions is currently seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing facility in Eden, NC. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on maintenance professional with strong mechanical abilities, working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to serve as a first‑call troubleshooter for production equipment. Benefits & Schedule for the Maintenance Technician:
- Pay: $33.00 per hour
- Higher starting rates may be considered for candidates with particularly strong electrical experience and/or advanced technical qualifications
- Employees rotate between day and night shifts monthly
- Opportunity for additional PLC training for candidates who already possess a basic foundation and understanding of PLC systems
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
- Serve as a first‑call troubleshooter for equipment breakdowns and production issues
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues affecting manufacturing equipment
- Perform hands‑on repairs to restore equipment safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment and automated production systems
- Respond to maintenance needs throughout the facility with an appropriate sense of urgency
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform both breakdown/reactive maintenance and preventive maintenance
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment to maximize reliability and uptime
- Identify potential equipment issues before they result in production interruptions
- Support ongoing equipment reliability and maintenance initiatives
- Work closely with production personnel to address equipment concerns and minimize downtime
Electrical & Controls Troubleshooting
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repair on manufacturing equipment
- Work with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and related controls when applicable
- Troubleshoot Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC systems when applicable
- Support troubleshooting of Yaskawa drives
- Assist with HMI/touchscreen troubleshooting and programming based on experience level
Requirements for the Maintenance Technician:
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance abilities
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair experience
- Ability to independently identify and resolve mechanical and basic electrical equipment issues
- Experience performing both preventive and reactive/breakdown maintenance
- Basic understanding of PLCs and experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled equipment
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs strongly preferred
- Experience with Siemens or Mitsubishi PLCs highly desirable
- Yaskawa drive experience is a strong plus
- HMI programming and/or touchscreen experience is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with production personnel and communicate maintenance issues clearly
- Dependable, responsive, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding, hands‑on maintenance work throughout a 12‑hour shift
- Must be comfortable with significant walking and physical activity throughout the facility
- Ability to respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance needs throughout the plant
- Must be comfortable working directly with manufacturing and production equipment
- Ability to safely perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment repairs in an industrial manufacturing environment
