Our well-established industrial electrical equipment manufacturing client is seeking a capable and progressive Plant Manager to manage their new Indianapolis facility. Collaborating with the executive team, the Plant Manager is critical in driving operational excellence and maximizing organizational growth and profitability throughout plant operations. The position is responsible for, directs, and leads all plant operations, including overall responsibility for production and ensuring a safe, efficient, ethical culture, and work environment. The ideal candidate is a team player, focused on people development and operational performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to build culture from the ground up in a new facility and be part of a fast-growing operation.

The Role:
  1. Directs and manages all manufacturing operations with overall responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities to achieve effective and efficient use of facilities and human capital.
  2. Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development to support a positive work culture and model the company’s vision and values.
  3. Creates a culture of safety and deploys programs to ensure the facility develops and implements a strategy to achieve world-class safety levels.
  4. Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for safety, production, and quality standards, working closely with managers and safety teams.
  5. Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; submits requests for adjustments or replacements when necessary.
  6. Constantly improves production flow of all products; assists in developing plant layout and planning rearrangements of facilities, equipment, and operations.
  7. Coordinates plant activities through strategic planning.
  8. Hires, trains, develops, and mentors team members.
  9. Responsible for plant-level financial management, including purchasing, inventory, capital expenditures, and analyzing monthly P&L performance against budgets.
  10. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve critical business objectives.
  11. Develops and deploys appropriate plant processes in support of the company’s strategic vision.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally with exposure to industrial environments.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related disciplines preferred, or comparable experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of production and manufacturing process improvement techniques and methodologies.
  • LEAN manufacturing and/or production process experience is an asset.
  • Superior motivational skills with the ability to train and drive initiatives within the production team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven capabilities in operations/supply chain management, lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and policy deployment.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
