Job description

Responsibilities

Howmet Aerospace, due to expansion, is seeking a Plant Manager in Del Rio, Texas, to oversee daily operations across the border at the Acuna, Mexico manufacturing facility. This key role will support Howmet de Mexico and Howmet Del Rio as the main responsible for operations and execution.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain high ethics and values in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS regulations required for the operation.
  • Maintain high employee engagement through regular all-employee meetings and communication.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations or Segment Leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, utilizing tools like Hoshin Kanri.
  • Support the development of new market opportunities from proposal to market realization.
  • Coordinate hiring and staffing plans with HR.
  • Work with EHS to reduce workplace risks and environmental impacts.
  • Coordinate with Finance to achieve P&L targets.
  • Oversee Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Maintenance, ensuring quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead monthly business reviews with senior management.
  • Enhance customer relations and understand customer needs.
  • Establish growth and profit criteria, evaluating performance regularly.
  • Address and rectify any operational issues to meet forecasted objectives.
  • Manage assets, inventory, and equipment efficiency.
  • Analyze capacity against demand and resolve bottlenecks using Lean principles.
  • Develop talent and succession plans within the team.
  • Manage projects, work content, and programs for production.
  • Support manufacturing with engineering programs.
  • Facilitate communication and training across teams.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 90% to Acuna, Mexico, and 10% to Del Rio, Texas, and support after-hours issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 10+ years of Plant Management Leadership experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Understanding of Mexico/US bilateral culture and manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications like PE, ISO/AS9100, NADCAP.
  • Strong talent and succession management culture.
  • Mentorship and team collaboration skills.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
