Job summary

Brakebush Chicken is seeking a Maintenance & Utilities Manager for 1st shift in Mocksville, NC. The role oversees all plant maintenance and utilities teams, driving preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance programs to improve reliability and efficiency.

The position leads the Maintenance/Utilities team, mentors supervisors and technicians, and collaborates with Corporate Engineers on project tasks while ensuring OSHA, USDA, GMP, SQF, and HACCP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology or eight plus years of plant engineering or maintenance experience, including at least five years of supervision.
• Demonstrated application of industrial engineering methods.
• Proven working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems - Ammonia Refrigeration Certification.
• Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma knowledge.
• Proven project management work in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, USDA regulations, GMPs, Food Safety (SQF) and HACCP.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provides Engineering Support. acts as a Project Manager assisting Corporate Engineers with various tasks.
• Provides Leadership to the Maintenance/Utilities team and manages supervisors and technicians to optimize performance.
• Ensures Plant System efficiencies across ammonia refrigeration, boiler, steam, water, waste systems; develops maintenance programs to improve utilization and productivity.
• Oversees the PSM program, ensuring compliance, training, documentation, and metrics reporting.
