Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues, and support continuous improvements across conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and supporting facility systems.

Responsibilities include scheduled maintenance, diagnosing faults, and maintaining paperwork. Emphasis on safety, quality, and timely repairs, with opportunities to train others.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Work Experience: 1+ years of experience related to Heavy-Duty Maintenance jobs or equivalent training/experience, preferably in the Aggregates Industry.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Equipment analysis and general repair concepts; Troubleshooting MSHA compliance and regulations; Problem solving; Detail oriented; Time management.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, and other plant equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
• Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure backlog process is completed and prioritized with Supervisor/Plant Manager.
• Responds to equipment failures and production interruptions.
• Assist with cutting, welding, and fabrication tasks for plant components and structural repairs.
• Perform fabrication, erection, and repair of processing and mobile equipment.
• Complete required paperwork to maintain equipment and run the plant per Martin Marietta standards.
• Adhere to MSHA safety standards and company policies.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections and enforce lockout/tagout during maintenance.
• Prioritize SAFETY, then QUALITY, then Production.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and lubrication services are completed per Maintenance Module.
• Operate cranes, man-lifts, welding/cutting tools, and other specialty equipment as needed.
• Train and coach other employees on maintenance practices.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition.
• Communicate status and repair needs with supervisors and operations teams.
