Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeks a Senior Plant Maintenance Technician to lead the reliability, safety and efficiency of plant equipment and systems, including conveyors, pumps and gearboxes.

This role provides advanced troubleshooting, mentors junior technicians, and drives preventive maintenance programs. You will develop SOPs, ensure MSHA compliance, and prioritize safety, quality and production while maximizing uptime and supporting continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of related heavy-duty maintenance experience.
• Experience with MSHA compliance and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve plant equipment availability, capability, and yield.
• Identify systemic maintenance needs from trends.
• Participate in broad-scale plant maintenance initiatives.
• Procure maintenance support with vendors.
• Develop reports on plant capacity and maintenance activities.
• Maintain maintenance records in appropriate systems.
• Perform MSHA pre-shift safety inspections.
• Prioritize safety, quality and production.
• Perform timely repairs and preventive maintenance on stationary equipment.
• Check and replace pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and screens.
• Operate cranes, man-lifts, welding and cutting tools.
• Fabricate, erect, and repair equipment.
• Ensure maintenance backlog is reviewed and prioritized.
• Train and coach other employees on maintenance best practices.
• Adapt to additional tasks as needed.
