Job summary

Finlays Solutions in New Lenox, IL is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead the reliability, safety, and uptime of all production and facility equipment.

You will manage preventive maintenance, oversee line changeovers, coordinate rebuilds, and mentor a skilled team while ensuring compliance with GMPs, safety, and quality standards.

Strong electrical troubleshooting, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic plant environment are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical trade school, military training or technical college preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on industrial facilities & equipment in related industry; beverage experience a plus.
• Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting highly desired.
• Experience with pumps, piping, instrumentation equipment, welding, use of hoists, cranes, and fine measurement devices is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering documents and specifications as they apply to manufacturing equipment, facilities and systems.
• Basic knowledge of both (A/C) high voltage and (D/C) low voltage electrical wiring.
• Reads and understands electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams & schematics.
• Computer proficient; including MS Office.
• Ultimo experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to ensure understanding of written procedures, safety instructions, technical documentation, and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all company safety policies, SOPs, and GMPs within the Maintenance & Facilities Department.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring adherence to safety practices and addressing unsafe conditions.
• Maintain operational readiness of all manufacturing equipment and minimize downtime.
• Direct and perform line changeovers, mechanical adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, inspections, and work orders via CMMS.
• Review and verify maintenance documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Support and enforce best practices for documentation and record-keeping.
• Supervise and mentor maintenance team members; provide after-hours support as needed.
• Train manufacturing personnel on equipment care, cleaning, operation, and inspection protocols.
• Collaborate with peers, staff, and vendors to align maintenance objectives with plant goals.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate departmental performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in developing critical parts lists and ensure accurate spare parts inventory.
• Oversee timely ordering and availability of components for repairs, rebuilds, and planned maintenance.
• Foster proactive maintenance culture with continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.
• Identify and implement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Maintain forklift certification and adapt to varying shifts, weekends, or holidays.
