Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Mason City, IA is seeking a Plant Maintenance Supervisor for 1st and 2nd shifts. You will lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians to keep equipment, utilities, and production lines in peak condition.

You will plan maintenance schedules, implement TPM and SOPs, and ensure compliance with USDA regulations while driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Able to lead training, coaching, or mentoring staff and manage a process or project.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities for high-level process issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• May require long hours and weekend work; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities in collaboration with Production.
• Develop TPM, SOPs, and safety documentation; monitor KPIs and report status.
• Ensure maintenance tasks comply with USDA regulations and maintain records.
• Provide leadership in crisis situations and mentor team members.
