Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Forest City, NC, seeks an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician to support maximum plant reliability. You will own maintenance tasks, perform root cause analysis, and drive preventive/predictive maintenance to maximize asset availability and safety.

The role requires multi-craft skills across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, plus experience with CMMS, PLCs, and NFPA 70E.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Technical skills across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Experience with CMMS, PLC logic, and safety standards.
• Ability to read schematics and perform root cause analysis.
• Welding and machining skills a plus; forklift/osha training not required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, robotic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
• Install and troubleshoot drives, motors, and PLC programs; modify or write PLC code as needed.
• Lead or support maintenance planning and 5S housekeeping goals.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Document maintenance activity in CMMS and coordinate with operations to avoid downtime.
