Job summary

Xcel Energy in Eau Claire, WI seeks a Standard Operations professional to plan and manage maintenance work, outages, and contractor coordination. You will assign work orders, schedule crews, prepare cost estimates, and support plant budgeting while ensuring safety and reliability.

Minimum three to five years in power plants or heavy industry is required, with strong communication, budgeting, and SAP/WMS experience. Hybrid work model with onsite collaboration three days a week is typical.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of power plant experience or equivalent in heavy industry.
• Knowledge of maintenance and operations practices and procedures is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; leadership and human relations experience.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout processes; budgeting and cost control preferred.
• SAP work order management experience; utility industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and weekly maintenance work and prioritize tasks.
• Create and prioritize work orders; manage parts and materials.
• Plan outages and overhauls; supervise contractors; track progress.
• Develop cost estimates for outages and large projects; support budgeting.
• Prepare monthly maintenance/operations and outage reports.
• Coordinate with contractors; ensure safety and quality standards.
