Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in San Antonio is seeking a Plant Maintenance Manager to lead the facility's physical plant operations, including planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance, repairs, and small construction projects. You will coordinate with contractors and ensure compliance with Life Safety Code standards.

The ideal candidate will have broad KSAs in maintenance, a four-year degree, and experience managing a large facilities team in healthcare or similar settings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to physical plant maintenance or architectural construction is generally preferred.
• Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to physical plant maintenance, preferably in an ICF/IID or healthcare environment.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Directs maintenance department operations, supervising electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, carpenters, painters, automotive mechanics, and groundskeepers.
• Plans, schedules, and oversees capital construction, preventive/unscheduled maintenance, building repairs and renovations.
• Inspects buildings for compliance with Life Safety Code and related standards and coordinates with contractors and state offices.
