Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking a Plant Manager I to lead the Plant Maintenance department at the Lubbock Psychiatric Center. This role directs all facility utility services, grounds, buildings, and equipment maintenance, including small construction projects and contract work.

You will oversee cost, compliance with NFPA/NEC/TAC Life Safety codes, and development of work procedures while coordinating with vendors and facility leadership to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred and a minimum of five years in a leadership role managing multiple maintenance functions.
• Trade school certification in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry is preferred.
• Knowledge of Life Safety Code and related accreditation standards is required.
• Experience coordinating projects, budgets, and vendor contracts within a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Directs projects and activities of the facility's physical plant, including utilities, grounds, buildings, and equipment maintenance.
• Monitors project costs to ensure completion within budget; reviews requisitions and approves expenditures.
• Develops maintenance plans, standard procedures, and performance metrics in line with policies.
• Leads capital project requests, evaluates proposals, and selects vendors with PCS.
• Ensures compliance with NFPA, NEC, TAC, and Life Safety codes; collaborates with EC and QIT teams.
• Communicates regularly with leadership and customers on maintenance operations and project updates.
