Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for our Barberton, Ohio facility to build an organization supporting Optical, OLED, and Teslin units.

You will lead the maintenance and engineering team, establish a safe and productive culture, and drive CAPEX-related projects within the site. You will report to the Plant Manager and help shape a five-year plan while improving reliability, safety performance, and capital project execution in collaboration with the EH&S team

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in maintenance or facilities roles.
• Experience in manufacturing environments (chemical, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, pharmaceutical).
• Knowledge of facilities infrastructure (HVAC, power distribution, compressed air, water, sewer and other plant utilities).
• Knowledge of PLC controls and CMMS software.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge desired.

Responsibilities

• Improve reliability of plant operations.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with site EH&S to resolve safety issues.
• Delegate work assignments and monitor performance.
• Anticipate industry changes and review opportunities to enhance equipment and systems.
• Develop and manage training and growth plans for maintenance and electrical technicians.
• Help develop a moving 5-year Maintenance, Facilities and Equipment plan.
• Manage the project and process engineering group to complete capital plan and manage the process control systems.
• Track safety metrics, headcount, work order backlog, PM completion.
• Improve spare parts management to reduce downtime.
• Guide root cause/corrective action processes and ensure sustained solutions.
