Job summary

PPG maintains a Maintenance and Engineering leadership role at the Barberton site. You will develop an organization supporting Optical, OLED, and Teslin units, while ensuring a safe, productive culture for maintenance staff and engineers. You will also assist with CAPEX projects as directed by the plan.

This onsite role reports to the Plant Manager and sits within the site management team at Barberton, Ohio.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in maintenance or facilities roles.
• Experience in manufacturing environments (chemical, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, pharma).

Responsibilities

• Improve reliability of plant operations.
• Lead safety initiatives and comply with safety standards.
• Coordinate with EH&S to resolve safety/regulatory issues.
• Delegate work, monitor performance, provide feedback.
• Identify opportunities to upgrade equipment and systems.
• Develop training plans for maintenance and electrical techs.
• Contribute to a 5-year Maintenance, Facilities & Equipment plan.
• Manage project and process engineering to complete capital plan.
• Track metrics: safety, headcount, work orders, PMs.
• Improve spare parts management to cut downtime.
• Lead root-cause/corrective action for critical issues.
