Job summary

PPG Industries, a leader in coatings and materials, seeks a Senior Maintenance and Engineering Manager to provide strategic and technical leadership across multiple plants. You will oversee facilities maintenance, process controls engineering, and project engineering while partnering with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Corporate Engineering to sustain asset performance and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Industrial Engineering.
7+ years engineering, maintenance, or project management in manufacturing.
5+ years of leadership managing teams or complex technical functions.
Experience with maintenance systems, automation controls, and capital project management.
Expertise in reliability improvements and system uptime.
Experience in paint, chemical, or batch manufacturing; certifications like PE, PMP, CMRP, Six Sigma/Lean.
Experience with CMMS, controls platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and process safety management.
Experience leading major capital projects or plant transformations.
Experience supporting growth through capacity increases or product introductions.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance organization for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across plant equipment and utilities.
Ensure uptime targets meet production goals through planning and resource allocation.
Oversee maintenance work orders, PM optimization, spare parts strategy, and contractor management.
Maintain regulatory compliance for facilities, safety, and utilities.
Develop process controls team supporting automation systems and data collection.
Drive reliability improvements and automation upgrades for safety and throughput.
Guide root cause analysis for equipment failures and disturbances.
Oversee project engineering for capital projects from design to startup.
Manage budgets, timelines, and partner communications while aligning with plant strategy.
Lead technical reviews, contractor coordination, and commissioning/startup activities.
Foster coaching, succession planning, and performance management of the team.
Champion safety culture and adherence to plant procedures.
