Job summary

Insteel Industries seeks a Plant General Manager to lead a multi-shift operation, driving safety, quality, and productivity. You will oversee engineering, maintenance, and capital projects while managing budgets and aligning production with sales objectives.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years of leadership in manufacturing, and strong communication and problem-solving skills to support ALARA and Zero Harm commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional, technical, or administrative training.
• Broad knowledge of business administration, industrial management, or industrial engineering.
• Working knowledge of computers and business software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
• Minimum of 7 years of work-related experience required.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Directs plant manufacturing from raw materials to finished products with focus on safety, quality and productivity.
• Manages budgets, expenditures, and cost variances; initiates corrective actions.
• Partners with product or sales managers to align production with forecasts and profitability.
• Oversees engineering, maintenance, capital expenditures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Applies ALARA and Zero Harm principles in decision making.
• Maintains records and reports using MS Office.
