Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Plant General Manager to lead an established building components manufacturing operation. Focus on safety, quality, efficiency, profitability, and team performance to drive plant success.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, managing P&L and budgets, and leading production, engineering, procurement, inventory, logistics, maintenance, and quality to improve yield and reduce waste.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in manufacturing/engineering or related field.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams and managing P&L.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily plant activities.
• Manage plant P&L, budgets, cost controls, and operational performance.
• Lead production, design/engineering, procurement, inventory, logistics, maintenance, and quality.
• Drive production efficiencies, material yield, labor efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, OSHA, and quality requirements.
• Maintain strong quality control processes and certification requirements.
• Train, manage, and provide feedback to employees.
• Prepare daily efficiency, production, and operational reports.
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues; coordinate with maintenance.
• Manage raw material procurement and inventory.
• Ensure production schedules, staffing, and delivery requirements are met.
• Evaluate capital expenditures and equipment investments for ROI.
• Lead the expansion of manufacturing capabilities into additional building component products.

• Experience in building components or related manufacturing preferred
• 5+ years of experience supervising manufacturing teams
• Proven P&L, budgeting, cost control, and operational management experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing/ERP systems
• Experience in building products or component manufacturing
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and production systems
• Experience with industry quality and certification programs
• Experience with material procurement and yield optimization
• CAPEX and ROI experience
