Job summary

Kelly Professional & Industrial is seeking an experienced Plant Manager for a permanent, on-site role in Grand Forks. This hands-on leadership position reports to the Director of Operations and is designed to strengthen safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and scalability across a growing manufacturing site.

The successful candidate will lead Production, Purchasing, Scheduling, Inventory, Warehouse, and Quality, while developing managers and building a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
  • Proven experience leading multi-department manufacturing teams and developing managers
  • Engineering background or strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems
  • Experience in complex engineered-to-order or custom fabrication environments (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for plant operations, including Production, Purchasing, Scheduling, Inventory, Warehouse, and Quality
  • Lead and develop managers, supervisors, and employees while building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure the plant meets safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives
  • Transition responsibilities with the Director of Operations and implement operational improvements
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and earn credibility with the workforce
  • Identify bottlenecks, improve workflow and productivity, and strengthen manufacturing processes
  • Ensure effective ISO 9001 / Quality Management System compliance and continuous improvement
  • Use ERP/MRP systems, production data, and KPIs to improve visibility and decision-making
  • Partner with Engineering to align designs, materials, processes with production requirements
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safety-focused manufacturing environment
  • Lead change thoughtfully with collaboration and communication to gain employee buy-in

Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 plus profit share

Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to join a well-established manufacturing organization and take on a newly created leadership role. This position will work closely with the long-standing Director of Operations, who has successfully led the organization for many years and is looking to transition day-to-day responsibilities to a strong operational leader
