Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking a General Laborer to support plant operations across areas of the facility. The role emphasizes hands-on labor, safety, and the ability to operate small equipment as needed, with adaptability for vacation coverage and production demand.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess basic ability to read and write.
• Should be capable of operation of mobile equipment.
• Experience around moving machinery preferred.
• Able to walk on rough terrain and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Work indoors and outdoors with temperature extremes, dust, noise and humidity.
• Willing and able to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform housekeeping and manual labor tasks throughout the plant.
• Fill in when needed in all areas of plant operation as directed by supervisor.
• Safely operate mobile equipment when necessary.
• Participate in any required training to improve performance or efficiency.
• Write work orders for maintenance and safety concerns.
• Communicate problems or areas of concern to supervisor and coordinate with coworkers.
• Assist in minor maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
