Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in Houston seeks a Plant Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for our corrugated & converting operations. You will oversee GL, inventory, cost accounting, month-end close, and reporting while partnering with plant leadership to drive financial performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in a manufacturing finance/controller role, with strong Excel, US GAAP knowledge, and Amtech ERP exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, including coursework in Intermediate and Cost Accounting.
• Five+ years of progressive experience in a finance/controller role with manufacturing exposure.
• Strong manufacturing and cost accounting expertise.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and ERP/production systems (Amtech preferred).
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas).

Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Partnership & Analysis: collaborate with plant leadership to interpret results and drive decisions.
• Performance Insight: analyze variances and recommend actions to management.
• Accounting, Reporting, and Control: own GL, inventory, cost accounting; manage month-end close and reporting.
• Planning & Forecasting: coordinate budget and forecasts for income statement and balance sheet.
• Internal Controls & GAAP: implement robust controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Leadership & Team Development: lead on-site accounting team and cross-functional collaboration.
