Job summary

Hood Container Corporation seeks a Plant Controller to act as the financial backbone for our Houston corrugated operations. This on-site leadership role reports to the Regional Controller and drives financial discipline across accounting, planning, and cost analysis.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in finance/controller roles within packaging, plus strong manufacturing cost accounting expertise and Amtech/ERP familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, including coursework in Intermediate and Cost Accounting.
• Five+ years of progressive experience in a similar finance/controller role, preferably in packaging or corrugated.
• Strong manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience; solid US GAAP knowledge.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Amtech preferred) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Inventory, and Cost Accounting.
• Own month-end close and produce timely monthly financial statements and operational reports.
• Coordinate plant budget and forecasts for income statement, balance sheet, and statistics.
• Monitor and enforce robust internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance and asset protection.
