Job summary

Pratt Industries seeks an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in daily accounting activities, including A/R, A/P, GL, and inventory, with a hands-on approach to improve financial processes.

Responsibilities include preparing plant-level reports, budgeting, forecasting, journal entries, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate invoicing and timely vendor and customer transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Highly skilled with financial and numeric data.
• Proficient in Excel spreadsheets.
• 2+ years accounting experience.
• 3+ years in a general accounting support function (AP/AR preferred).
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel and Word; familiarity with SAP and databases.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with daily accounting activities (A/R, A/P, GL, inventory, reconciliations, month-end close).
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly financial reports including plant P&L statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and weekly forecast meetings.
• Post journal entries and verify GL accuracy.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, shipping, maintenance, and operations to ensure timely payments and invoicing accuracy.
• Oversee month-end inventory reconciliations and support operational corrections.
