Job summary

Ameron Pole Products, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a Sr. Plant Accountant for our Anniston, AL facility. The role partners with the Plant Manager and corporate finance to drive financial decisions, ensure reporting accuracy, and support strategic initiatives at the plant.

You will lead month- and year-end closes, build forecasts, supervise AP/invoicing, and deliver KPI analyses that guide operations and costs. A manufacturing finance background and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR equivalent manufacturing/cost accounting experience.
• Minimum of 7 years in finance/accounting (cost accounting in manufacturing highly preferred).
• Track record of process improvement, simplification and streamlining financial processes.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Experience with various systems and financial reporting tools (Oracle, On, JobScope, Power BI, GL Wand/Reports Wand).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data modeling skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with leaders.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Extensive knowledge of budgeting and forecasting and product-line profitability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Enhance reporting content and processes to meet business needs and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate month-, quarter- and year-end closing and reporting activities for the business.
• Streamline current processes and identify opportunities to automate.
• Prepare detailed variance analyses and present findings to leadership.
• Coordinate the preparation of financial forecasts.
• Prepare financial reports for internal use by collecting, analyzing, formatting and presenting information.
• Supervise accounts payable and invoicing activities.
• Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts; perform monthly KPIs with operations and management.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing requested information.
• Analyze and document current procedures and implement best practices.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
