Job summary

Gates Corporation seeks a Plant Controller at the Red Bay, AL facility to lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. You will drive financial performance and profitability through meticulous analysis and strong internal controls.

The role partners with Operations and senior leadership to optimize costs, enhance efficiency, and strengthen site-wide financial performance. You will oversee a finance team and ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing/plants.
• Experience with standard cost accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own full responsibility for the plant’s P&L and Balance Sheet with accurate reporting.
• Lead month-end close activities and financial statement preparation.
• Drive budgeting and forecasting for labor, overhead, and standard costs.
• Provide data-driven insights to plant leadership and Corporate Finance.
• Partner with Operations/Engineering for capital project evaluation and ROI.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and SOX; manage cost accounting.
