Job summary

The Bolton Group is seeking a Plant Controller for our Alabama manufacturing facility. You will lead accounting, oversee cost and inventory accounting, and partner with plant leadership to drive performance.

Responsibilities include month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, with opportunities to develop a small accounting team and influence strategic decisions across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Understanding of inventory, standard costing, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work closely with operations while managing accounting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee standard costing, inventory accounting, and fixed assets.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and operating variances, translating results into actionable recommendations.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts in partnership with plant leadership.
• Support operational decisions through financial analysis and performance reporting.
• Maintain effective internal controls and support SOX compliance and audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and cost visibility.
• Supervise and develop a small accounting team.
