Job summary

Cabot Corporation in Franklin, LA seeks a Plant Environmental Manager to lead the SH&E team onsite. You will drive regulatory compliance, Title V permitting, and environmental programs within a complex carbon black site.

This role blends technical leadership with hands-on governance to reduce risk and improve sustainability. You’ll collaborate with site management, regulators, and corporate teams to advance environmental performance, training, and incident response, while guiding a small team

Qualifications

• Bachelor/University degree in Environmental or Safety engineering or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and safety sciences and practices.
• Strong knowledge of national and local regulations.
• Leadership and management skills; ability to motivate and oversee a professional staff.
• Planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to negotiate with external stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate submittal of Title V and environmental permits.
• Develop and implement cost-effective environmental programs and procedures.
• Assure local compliance with plant, company and governmental policies and regulations.
• Support SH&E to identify and manage environmental concerns.
• Lead and develop the site environmental team and reports to Facility General Manager.
• Lead regulatory inspections, audits and agency interactions.
• Oversee environmental monitoring programs and reporting to ensure permit compliance.
• Evaluate CAPEX/projects for environmental impacts and compliance risks.
• Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and sustainability.
