Job summary

POET is seeking a Plant Engineering Intern to work on-site in Preston, MN, assisting the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to maximize plant efficiency and run-time. You will help identify process needs and support predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

Ideal candidates are DE or engineering students with strong organizational and communication skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems such as DCS is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Junior or Senior-level student pursuing Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
• Must be able to work 40 hours/week.
• Organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Microsoft Office familiarity; learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to maximize plant efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and identify process needs; support maintenance programs.
• Develop predictive and preventative maintenance initiatives.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Support environment, safety, and quality efforts.
