Job summary

POET’s Never Satisfied Internship in Gowrie, IA, offers hands-on exposure to plant operations. You will work with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to optimize production, troubleshoot process needs, and help build predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

We seek a junior/senior student pursuing Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering, ready to engage in diverse projects like maintenance, process optimization, and data analysis while adhering to safety and environmental

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering at a 4-year college/university.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, minimum of 40 hours/week.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills; ability to adapt to change.
• Knowledge of MS Office; ability to learn new programs.
• Bonus points for familiarity with DCS control and DCS historian systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to maximize efficiency and run time.
• Troubleshoot and identify process needs; assist in maintenance programs.
• Develop predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
• Assist in data compilation and analysis.
• Support operation and safety initiatives across multiple plant environments.
