Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance efforts for processing and refrigeration systems. You will oversee supervisors, coordinate with contractors, and ensure rapid, cost-effective execution of maintenance tasks.

Strong PLC/HMI/robotics knowledge and budgeting support are essential. The role requires 5+ years in maintenance leadership with a strong focus on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and automation processes, along with good communication and planning skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, automation and training processes.
  • Ability to supervise maintenance supervisors and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and plan cost-effective, timely maintenance across processing lines and equipment.
  • Direct and coordinate maintenance supervisors and team members; support contractors and vendors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues; optimize automated systems (PLCs, HMIs, robotics).
  • Coordinate maintenance training programs and assist with budgeting and asset management.
  • Schedule work and ensure parts and assets are available; provide information for management decisions.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job Details

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising and planning the cost-effective and timely execution of maintenance activities necessary to support the operation of all equipment and processes within the Processing Maintenance and Refrigeration departments. Responsibilities include directing, coordinating, and supporting maintenance supervisors and team members; collaborating with contractors, vendors, and company engineering teams on equipment modifications or installations; and troubleshooting and resolving new or complex technical issues related to equipment and processes. This role is also responsible for efficiently managing and maintaining highly automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and maintaining the maintenance training program for maintenance team members; assisting with budget preparation and oversight; coordinating team member work schedules; ensuring required parts and assets are available and properly maintained; providing information to support management decision-making; and performing other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Experience: Minimum of +5 years of progressive maintenance supervisory/leadership experience in an industry specific environment, including demonstrated experience directly leading Maintenance Supervisors or equivalent maintenance leaders.

Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency required.

Communication Skills: Must communicate effectively and provide clear, specific direction.

Special Skills: Requires strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, automation, and maintenance training processes. Must exercise sound judgment, make effective decisions, stay organized, and appropriately accept and delegate responsibility.

Supervisory Responsibility: Provides supervision to maintenance supervisors and/or team members performing similar or related work.

Travel: 1–5 trips annually.
