Job summary

CAMS is seeking a Plant Engineer for the Middletown Energy Center to provide technical leadership ensuring safe, reliable operation and regulatory compliance. The role supports day-to-day plant operations, maintenance, outages, and capital projects.

The facility is a 475 MW 1x1 gas-fired CC plant with Mitsubishi 501 GAC gas turbines and Toshiba steam turbine. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and corporate teams to optimize performance, reliability, and overall

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5-10 years in power generation operations, maintenance, or related environment.
• Strong knowledge of CC power plant systems including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, generators, BOP, instrumentation, controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support for all CC plant systems, equipment, and processes.
• Troubleshoot issues and support root cause analyses for outages and performance deviations.
• Monitor plant performance, heat rate, and reliability metrics to identify improvements.
• Maintain up-to-date technical drawings and engineering files.
• Lead/engineer plant modifications, upgrades, and reliability projects.
• Support outage planning, scope development, and contractor coordination.
• Develop scopes of work and bid packages for maintenance and outages.
• Support MOC and RCA programs with proper documentation and action closure.
• Assist in maintenance strategies within the CMMS and capital project execution.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors on site.
• Ensure NERC compliance and environmental/safety standards.
