Job summary

MIT in Cambridge, MA seeks a Plant Engineer to support the Central Utilities Plant and maintain safe, efficient operations. You will update site drawings, assist EHS compliance, and oversee testing, capital renewal planning, and plant IT systems.

Responsibilities include improving equipment reliability, monitoring performance of turbines, boilers, chillers and air systems, and coordinating maintenance and testing activities. Strong Excel skills and collaborative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years power plant experience.
• Thorough knowledge of power plant systems and CHP facilities.
• Strong analytical, communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve equipment availability and reliability.
• Track, monitor and improve overall plant performance including turbines, boilers, chillers, and compressors.
• Assist with environmental compliance and with the MOC program.
• Coordinate special projects and maintain up-to-date engineering drawings and documentation.
