Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring a Plant Engineer to design, maintain, and improve mechanical, electrical, and structural systems at the facility. The role focuses on safe and efficient operations, equipment and water treatment, and collaboration with plant personnel and contractors to meet budgets and schedules.

The engineer will ensure compliance with process safety programs, manage ammonia refrigeration safety, and drive continuous improvement through Six Sigma and ERP-like practices, while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Three to five years of plant engineering experience in a food manufacturing plant preferred.
• Ability to manage projects and negotiate with contractors/vendors.
• Experience with CMMS and work order/preventive maintenance generation.
• Knowledge of PLCs and computer automation theory (software/hardware).
• Experience in refrigeration and utilities management.
• Ability to read and modify schematic diagrams and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and improve mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
• Manage budgets for maintenance, refrigeration, wastewater, and capital projects.
• Coach and mentor maintenance staff and coordinate with plant personnel and contractors.
• Ensure adherence to Process Safety Management and regulatory requirements.
