Job summary

Southern Nuclear is seeking engineers for Plant Farley in Dothan, AL. Openings include system, program, component, design, and reactor engineering to support reliability, safety, and performance of plant systems.

Responsibilities include implementing programs, designing modifications, and contributing to outage activities. A BS in Engineering or PE license is required, with strong communication and cross-organizational collaboration skills. Relocation may be needed to the site.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Selected candidate must live within 90 miles of the SNC Emergency Operations Facility for emergency response availability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability of assigned plant systems and provide direct technical support for operation and maintenance.
• Direct implementation of assigned programs and work processes (e.g., fire protection, Equipment Qualification, in-service inspection/testing, NRC Maintenance Rule).
• Prepare and coordinate designs, calculations, drawings, cost estimates and schedules for plant modifications and retrofits; perform field walk downs for constructability and construction coordination.
• Perform reactor-related duties including fuel inspections, fuel movement determinations, physics testing, control rod support, reactor core surveillance, spent fuel audits, and reactor engineering calculations.
• Engineers may manage special projects, participate in key refueling outage assignments, and engage in on-call emergency plan responses.
