Job summary

Southern Nuclear near Dothan, AL seeks an Electrical / I&C Design Engineer for Plant Farley. Responsibilities include design development, calculations, drawings, and cost/schedule prep for plant mods, plus field walk downs for as‑builts and constructability. You’ll oversee external design work and coordinate with project managers and plant personnel.

Role may include managing special projects and refueling outage duties, with on‑site testing and emergency plan involvement as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program or PE license.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience; nuclear plant experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable discipline codes, standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate design development, calculations, drawings, cost estimates and schedules for plant modifications.
• Conduct field walk downs for as-built verification and design constructability.
• Provide design oversight for external Architect/Engineering products and interface with project managers.
• Manage special projects and participate in refueling outage roles and post-modification testing.
• Support on-call duty and emergency plan response as required.
